Research Findings

User Engagement

The users aim to connect with others and access resources available on the website. They seek to comprehend the benefits of being a CDPCBO member and participate in the organization's community and events.

Website Navigation

Improving website navigation involves providing guidance and content to assist users in finding what they need. This can be by creating clear categories, headers, and simplifying written content for better user recognition.

Rebranding Feedback

The organization requires a modernized website design and improved online visibility. Users are seeking CDPCBO information that emphasizes the benefits of working with the organization.

User Testing Procedure

5 User Tests

3 User Tasks

  1. Learn more about the organization.

  2. Learn more about membership tiers.

  3. Contact someone who has gained membership with the organization.

User Testing Insights

Users search for an "About" tab.

😐
"When I go on a website to learn about an organization, I usually check the top for an 'About section' friendly website"

Users prioritize membership details over testimonials when learning about a membership tier. They want to make an decision based on costs and benefits, with emotional value being secondary.

😓
“I’d like to see the membership details as a high-level summary instead of the testimonials first”

Users were confused about where to go to contact members in the third task due to inconsistent options on the membership page and homepage. This suggests the need for clearer webpage design.

😵‍💫
"It wasn’t clear about whether I needed to return to the homepage to contact an individual. I wasn’t sure whether the people were clickable"

CDPCBO Website Solutions

1. Membership Testimonials

Users expressed a desire to better understand the value of membership and what benefits they could expect by joining the organization. To address this, we added a dedicated 'Member Testimonials' section featuring real quotes, stories, and photos from current members. These testimonials were carefully selected to showcase a range of experiences—from professional growth and networking to personal transformation—helping to build trust and provide social proof for prospective members.

 2. External Certification Resources

Users expressed interest in accessing valuable resources—such as newsletters—directly through the site, indicating a desire for ongoing learning, updates, and community engagement. In response, we introduced a dedicated 'Resources' section on the homepage featuring newsletter sign-ups and archived issues, making it easy for users to stay informed and connected.

3. Membership Pricing Tiers

Users wanted a clearer understanding of the membership options available to them, expressing confusion around the benefits, tiers, and pricing structures. To resolve this, we redesigned the membership section to include a simplified comparison chart outlining each membership tier, its benefits, and associated costs. We also added a ‘Which Membership is Right for You?’ guided quiz to help users identify the best fit based on their goals and needs—making the decision process more intuitive and user-friendly.
